The allegorist sees in the stop sign with its octagonal shape, an icon for sabbath stopping, or rest, on the eighth day (Sunday). The gospel is displayed in all of creation, even modern traffic enforcement hardware.
As for the cat and the mat, the allegorist sees that the mat clearly signifies the gospel; and the cat, as prophet, had infallible and complete knowledge of the gospel beyond what we see on the surface in his mere act of sitting on the mat.
Great recommendation on the royal wedding post Glen.
